Fascinating
Read the story of the 1880 Republican National Convention for an exciting and rather uplifting dark horse story, which led to James Garfield being nominated for and eventually elected President. After reading it, his assassination is now a tragic event to me, instead of just a trivia point.
May I just say that Garfield (if I’m not mistaken) was also one of the 8 presidents from Ohio, consequently, this is the state that I am from. Will I be president some day?
